PlanetChristmas is back in 2023!
after a 20 year hiatus
Here’s a short video (just over a minute) that shows the highlights of PlanetChristmas 2023.
The last major light display at the PlanetChristmas world headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee was way back in 2003. LEDs and digital pixels were science fiction. The PlanetChristmas synchronized light display is finally back home. Chuck Smith is using it as a testing ground for different decorating techniques.
In 2023 you’ll see nothing but pixels. Think of pixels as any light, any color at any time. Using standard 12vdc bullet pixels you’ll find 320 undulating Peace stakes in the front yard and the typical singing faces.

The latest technology is based around seed pixels. They’re much smaller, just as bright and use only about 20% of the power compared to standard pixels. Seed pixels are used in the megatrees, spiral trees, bushes and even the matrix panels.
